The woman who turns King Solomon's head will shake the cards of the ancient world... The wise King Solomon of Israel (Yul Brynner) falls in love with the beautiful and powerful Queen of Sheba (Gina Lollobrigida). When he allows her to perform a pagan ceremony at the Israelites' sacred site, he stirs his people against him. The Egyptians take advantage of the confusion and attack Israel. Was this the queen's plan from the beginning? This epic love story is one of the finest monumental works of the 1950s, and even today it still manages to amaze with its crowds and fight scenes. This is the latest film from director King Vidor (The Wizard of Oz, Duel in the Sun, War and Peace). King Solomon was originally played by Tyrone Power, but he died on November 15, 1958 while filming the last scene of the movie. Everything had to be reshot with a new Solomon, played by Yul Brynner.
